20 June 28, 2024, the Supreme Court removed the power from federal agencies to interpret ambiguous law related to their jurisdictions. They have gutted the ability of regulatory agencies to carry out their vital functions. These agencies are often invisible to the citizens, despite their crucial role in our safety. “The Lighthouse Went Dark” illuminates the services lost threefold; Agency logos are redesigned for increased recognizability over their existing seals, the logos are displayed in mockups to illustrate the utility of their services, and the display is torched to render the items damaged as the agencies have been. Their restoration requires a public acknowledgement of their existence, utility, and darkening.
